Company Organisation

Since its inception, SMT has grown into a successful and well respected international company and with locations in Europe, Asia and the USA is able to communicate effectively with a global customer base.

The international headquarters of SMT is in Nottingham (UK) and is where the Software Development, Engineering, Technical, Business and Financial teams are based.

Also located in Nottingham, we have a dedicated test facility which houses our transmission test rigs and test vehicles and is where we are able to perform long-term testing and benchmarking of gearboxes and components.

In the UK we have an additional office in Birmingham which is home to a team of specialist automotive transmission design engineers supported by a team of CAE/CAD engineers and engineers experienced in gear manufacturing processes and heat treatment.

In addition to our UK offices, SMT has established a network of other offices around the world. These include automotive design and engineering in Syracuse (NY, USA) and wind turbine gearbox design in São João da Madeira (Portugal). In addition, SMT have offices in Beijing & Shanghai (China) and Goyang-City (Korea) with sales, project management, technical support and engineering support teams.
