Electric powertrains are expected to be more efficient and compact. Increasingly, four-point contact ball bearings are being applied in this trend.

However, there are no examples of four-point contact ball bearings that have been analysed for sliding and power loss under conditions where radial load is dominant.

Therefore, we analysed the sliding and power losses of four-point contact ball bearing using 6-DOF ball bearing models developed by SMT and compared them with deep groove ball bearing.
