SMT were delighted with the outcome of interest for further MASTA training at the University of Warwick. As one of SMT’s academic partners, it has been prevalent that as a company, the opportunity is cherished for mechanical engineering students to integrate and develop knowledge of our MASTA CAE software into their academic projects and courses.
The tutorial sessions took place over several rooms with various members of the SMT team on hand, activities included creating models, analysing gears, bearings and shafts and running advanced analyses on full system level transmission models.
SMT have previously worked with Warwick University on many occasions with Dr Ken Mao, Associate Professor (Reader) in Mechanical Engineering.
The tutorial series was designed to introduce using SMT’s MASTA to build and then analyse a simple geared system with several training material documents for support.
“Our trip to Warwick University was a huge success.
This is the first year that MASTA has been a part of the undergraduate engineering course and it was promising to see the students’ enthusiasm when learning and using the software.
We look forward to continuing our relationship with the University and supporting Dr Mao’s work in bringing more practical experience into the course over the coming years.”
