About The Role:

As a Financial Accountant, you will be part of our Finance Department.

The Finance Department is responsible for overseeing the company’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy in reporting, and compliance with legal standards.

Your responsibilities will involve managing daily accounting tasks, preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, and conducting internal audits to ensure financial stability.

You will report directly to the Finance Department Manager.

Job Purpose:

To manage financial records, prepare statements, analyse data, and ensure compliance with accounting standards, maintaining accurate financial information for the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gathering and Monitoring Financial Data: Tracking all financial transactions to ensure that the company’s financial systems reflect accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Preparing Statements: Creating monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
  • Forecasting Costs and Revenues: Analysing financial data and market trends to predict future costs and revenues.
  • Managing Tax Payments: Staying on top of tax obligations to avoid any legal penalties and ensure that the company’s financial resources are managed effectively.
  • Organising Internal Audits: Reviewing financial records to maintain accuracy and compliance.
  • Improving and monitoring internal financial process and procedures: Continuously assess and enhance the financial processes for the company to increase efficiency and reduce the risk of errors.
  • Budget Preparation: Developing budgets for the entire company, individual departments, and regional offices.
  • Month-End and Year-End Close Processes: Finalising financial records at the end of each month and year.
  • Consolidate Monthly Reports: To provide a comprehensive view of the financial status across different regions and departments, for senior management.
  • Global Inter-Company Transactions: Managing transactions between different entities within the company to ensure that all financial activities are recorded and reconciled properly.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Keep up to date and compliant with all relevant legislation and Company policies and procedures, with particular attention to the requirements of Information Security, Data Protection and Quality policies and practices.
  • Any other duties as reasonably requested from time to time.

Skills and Experience:

  • Qualifications required (ACA/ACCA) proven work experience after qualified, typically gain over 3+ years.
  • SAGE intacct knowledge preferred.
  • Understanding core financial processes and relevant systems.
  • Strong ability to use Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • An enthusiastic team player with the ability to foster good working relationships.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Drive, self-motivation and ability to work well using own initiative.
  • Commercial awareness and business acumen.
  • Understanding of UK Tax laws essential, knowledge of global Tax laws desirable.
